The Laboratory of Prof. Taewan Kim at Shenzhen University is accepting applications for postdoctoral researchers (up to 5 positions) and a research assistant (1 position).

Prof. Taewan Kim is a Korean-American cancer researcher, Associate Professor, and Distinguished PengCheng Scholar in the International Cancer Center at Shenzhen University. The laboratory provides a new working space that opened several months ago and is located in the new medical campus of Shenzhen University in Shenzhen city. The laboratory is strongly funded by NSFC, Shenzhen city, and Shenzhen University. The research focus of the laboratory is centered on non-coding RNAs and cancer. Prof. Kim worked in multiple large laboratories at the Ohio State University, Vanderbilt University, and UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in the USA. As a result, Prof. Kim has a large network of colleagues in the world including the USA, United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. Prof. Kim is also collaborating with multiple research groups around the world including the USA, European countries, and South Korea. The laboratory members are educated based on the American-style education programs and strongly supported for their career development. Therefore, candidates who are interested in their future careers in other countries including the USA or European countries are also welcome as well as the candidates pursuing their careers in China.

Postdoctoral Researcher

- Minimum requirements

1.Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, or other closely related fields.

2.Experimental expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry using human cell lines and/or mouse models.

3.Publications as first authorship or substantially contributing authorship.

4.Communicable language skills in English.

5.Not older than 35 years old AND No more than 3 years since earning PhD.

- Preferred requirements

1.Experimental skills in molecular, cellular, and RNA biology.

2.First-authored publication(s) in cancer and/or RNA biology. 

3.(Optional) Eligible for a visiting scientist visa in the USA, European countries and South Korea.

- Salary and Other benefits

1. For their successful publication history and career development, postdoctoral researchers will be immediately given current ongoing projects and also provided with funding and research supports to develop their own research projects upon their preference and idea qualification.

2.聘期2年，税后薪酬为每年不低于33万元（免税，tax free），主要包括：（1）深圳大学综合年薪15万元（税前，含工资、社保、公积金、住房补贴等）；（2）深圳市政府博士后津贴18万元（税后）；（3）课题组科研绩效奖励.

3.The postdocs who are younger than 33 years old AND have two first-authored research papers in Q2（2区 in CAS standard）will be available for additional 4000RMB/month for two years.

4.出站时条件优秀者可优先推荐留深圳大学工作。出站后留深圳工作可申请30万元科研启动经费；符合深圳市后备级人才和孔雀计划C类条件的可以获得160万元个人奖励（具体条件和金额以当年深圳市人力资源和社会保障局发布的标准为准).

Research Assistant

-Minimum requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or Master’s degree (M.S.) in biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, or other closely related fields.

2.Experimental experience in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry using animals or human cells.

3.Excellent communication skills in English.

-Preferred requirements

1.Administrative and laboratory management experience.

2.Experience in NSFC or other funding proposals and management.

- Actual monthly salary after tax (5,000~7,000 RMB for B.S. and more than 7,500~10,000 RMB for M.S.)
