• Support the administration of taught degree programmes including: o Processing coursework submissions, feedback and marks entry. o Maintaining student records, both electronic and paper files. o Updating administrative information on Blackboard. • To deal with enquiries from current students regarding process and procedures, providing advice and assistance. • Liaise with PST and academic staff and, occasionally, other areas within the University, including UK-Based DLI Staff and Student & Academic Services. • Arrange meetings, e.g. examination panels and boards, including booking meeting rooms, catering and AV facilities. • General office duties including: o Ordering stationery, paper and other goods. o Assist with the photocopying of forms, obtaining authorisations, and filing paperwork. o Ordering AV equipment for teaching. o Post. o Maintaining contact detail lists. o Maintaining notice boards, pigeon holes, tables on landings etc. o Photocopying. o Reporting maintenance problems and issues to DUT estates and services department. o Assist in making arrangements for events and conferences organised by DLI. • To undertake other specific DLI roles as may be reasonably required by the Lead Programme Administrator.

Essential: • Either academic or vocational qualifications, plus work experience in a relevant role; or, substantial relevant work experience in a comparable setting.* • Experience of data input and accurate record-keeping.* • Experience of taking minutes and supporting committees.* • Work experience as an administrator in a busy environment.* • Relevant work experience in Higher Education.* • Ability to understand and comply with relevant internal/external policies and procedures in the workplace.* • Good oral and written skills in both English and Chinese in order to communicate effectively with staff and students at all levels.* • Ability to work to tight deadlines and use judgement and initiative to prioritise workload.* • Strong organisational and record keeping skills.* • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.* • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.* • Good communication skills, with the ability to give and receive information effectively using a variety of methods and to communicate with students, University staff and DUT staff.* • Ability to work as both as a member of a team whilst also demonstrating independent working and initiative.* • An understanding of the importance of meeting customer needs and providing a high quality service.* • A willingness to be flexible towards duties and adaptable to change.* Desirable: • Knowledge and experience in Chinese and UK Higher Education. • A willingness to undertake occasional early morning, evening and weekend work. • Working knowledge of relevant University systems. *Criteria to be used in shortlisting candidates for interview
