The appointee of the Associate Dean (FYTGS) will provide oversight of student outreach and admissions, PG program and professional development as well as planning, policy in adherence to the MOE and other governmental regulatory requirements. Major responsibilities include the following:
(1) Formulate and implement PG recruitment plans to attract the best talent internationally and enhance diversity; (2) Oversee PG student admission to uphold high student quality, establish procedures and systems in the GZ context, ensure compliance with policies and regulations; (3) Oversee the development of IT systems in collaboration with other stakeholders; (4) Support the development of PG degree programs and courses, and monitor the quality of program/course delivery; (5) Serves on relevant committees as needed; (6) Develop and implement academic administration policies on PG education and allocation of Postgraduate Studentships; (7) Enhance procedures and develop documentation in alignment with the University’s quality assurance framework; (8) Collaborate with the counterparts in HKUST in Hong Kong on integration of practices on the two campuses and cross-campus arrangements; (9) Lead a team of Mainland-based administrative staff and oversee all HR, budgetary and administrative matters in the Mainland office; and (10) Lead other PG-related initiatives as assigned by Dean of FYTGS.
任职要求
(1) A good master’s degree or above; (2) Substantial administrative experience in the tertiary education sector at a senior level; experience in PG education and administration in an international research university setting is highly desirable; (3) Understanding of and knowledge of the current development of PG education in Hong Kong, the Mainland as well as in the international arena; (4) Strong leadership and experience in driving priority initiatives under rapidly evolving situations; (5) Proven track record of management experience at a senior level; (6) Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua); and (7) Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated capability of communicating effectively and working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels and across cultures.
This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST(GZ) entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
