Full-time English Writing and Composition Instructor for Sichuan University - Pittsburgh Institute

Sichuan University - Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) is a joint institute formed in cooperation with Sichuan University (SCU) and the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). SCUPI, located in Chengdu, China, is one of the institute-scale, collaborative entities between leading universities in the U.S. and China. The academic program at SCUPI offers five undergraduate majors in Computer Science (CS), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), following Pitt’s core curriculum. RANK and COMPENSATION

Full-time, Lecturer position, compensation depending on qualifications

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Developments of course materials, including instructional materials, assessments, lesson plans, and reports

•   Classroom and group teaching

•   Holding office hours for students, individual tutorials, and academic advising.

•   General service responsibilities in academic settings of higher education in the U.S. and China

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•   MA in ESL, EFL, or a closely related field

•   Minimum 3 years teaching experience

•   International study and working experience preferred

•   High level of English proficiency

•   Flexibility and ability to cooperate with others in a dynamic environment
