Laboratory Introduction
David Chan Laboratory emphasizes on research topics including genetic and epigenetic alterations in tumor development, tumor microenvironment impact on chemoresistance and metastatic progression, and precision cancer medicine. We are engaged in pioneering research projects that delve into innovative methodologies in drug delivery utilizing nanotechnology, comprehensive genomic analysis, and organoid-based drug screening systems for targeted therapies in human cancers. Our investigations extend to discovering natural activators of AMPK with potential antitumor properties and their application in treating metabolic-associated fatty liver disease. Additionally, we are examining the interactions between oncology and immunology within the tumor microenvironment, etc.
Prof. Chan is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, CUHK-SZ. His research has led to patented innovations and over 82 peer-reviewed articles with more than 17,500 citations on Google Scholar. His work has garnered attention from academic institutions across Hong Kong, mainland China, and the USA/UK, as well as pharmaceutical companies interested in collaboration and funding opportunities. Job Description
Applicants should have:
1. Hold a Ph.D. in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related field, with the ability to commence work promptly.
2. Authored first-author research articles in high-impact SCI journals during doctoral studies.
3. Passionate about scientific research, eager to learn and self-improve, with good English writing skill.
4. Proficiency in standard biological and animal experimental techniques is desired, with a preference for candidates skilled in viral transfection, protein-protein interactions, and multi-omics data analysis.
Job Duties include:
1. Collaborate with the project leader to develop research plans, independently conduct research, and publish high-quality academic papers.
2. Assist the project leader in mentoring graduate students with their experiments.
3. Support the research group's development, including participation in the application for research projects and related activities.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Salary will be comparable to international standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen, and employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.
