Post Specification
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Managing routine administrative work (all registry functions, admission and graduation, programme service, student service, etc.) and administrative staff of the Graduate School (GS);
2. Interpreting and implementing regulations, policies, rules, guidelines and funding models concerning graduate studies, and preparing revision or establishment of these when and where needed;
3. Coordinating data collection and analysis, overseeing the development of GS’s IT system;
4. Overseeing quality assurance matters and programme reviews, preparing the annual “Quality Report of GS”;
5. Preparing reports or quota applications to the University Administration and government agencies such as the Ministry of Education;
6. Coordinating with Schools, graduate programmes, and various administrative offices of the University, liasing with GS of Chinese University of Hong Kong and other sister universities, communicating with government branches;
7. Providing support to various university-level (graduate studies related) and GS-level committees;
8. Coordinating publicity matters and overseeing the handling of emergencies and student grievances;
9. GS’s budgetary planning and recruitment;
10. Other duties as assigned by the School Dean.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. A master’s degree or higher, preferably with science and engineering background;
2. At least 10 years of extensive administrative or relevant work experience, with at least 3-5 years at supervisory level in higher education sectors, preferably in a graduate school;
3. Excellent management and communication skills;
4. Good command of written and spoken language skills in both English and Chinese, and familiarity with basic office software;
5. Capability of working independently and as part of an integrated team in a fast-paced work environment, initiative and proactive.
Salary and Benefits
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-SZ and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable in the PRC. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, PRC.
